Bloomberg: “Carney is a really smart guy and he said in the United Kingdom during Brexit, it’s really dangerous for the United Kingdom to separate itself from its No. 1 trading partner,” Goldy Hyder, chief executive of the Business Council of Canada, said in an interview with Bloomberg News. “And yet that’s exactly kind of the narrative that came out in Davos, so I don’t know how to square that circle.”
According to Hyder, few countries were willing to follow Carney’s lead after the speech, and some instead distanced themselves.
“It’s almost like everyone’s like, ‘Yeah, you say it, but I’m not going to say it and I’m not going to back you up when you say it.’ That’s not a good place for Canada to be,” Hyder said…
