China’s London ‘Super Embassy’ plan survives court challenge

Bloomberg: The UK’s approval of a new Chinese embassy in London was lawful, according to High Court judges, who found the government had examined necessary concerns around national security and safety.

The court rejected all grounds for the challenge brought by a group of local residents, who had flagged espionage risks and argued that protective steps were needed to counter these risks.

The residents plan to appeal the ruling, with their lawyer stating that their human rights are at stake, after the judges said the government had “fully and fairly” considered the issues relating to residents’ safety…
