The federal government has submitted a document to the Federal Court of Appeal defending the CRTC. It argues that the organization was within its rights when it issued its order and points out that streaming content distributors were able to generate profits thanks to their access to a Canadian audience without contributing financially to Canadian creation, as traditional media are already obliged to do.
