University of Alberta to become first to abandon race-centric hiring

National Post: Those equity targets are all a direct consequence of a 2006 decision by the Canadian Human Rights Commission requiring racial quotas in academic hiring.

It’s on the grounds of that 2006 decision that, this week, University of Ottawa professor Amir Attaran published an open letter threatening to launch legal action against the University of Alberta for reversing its EDI practices.
