State of the Union: Trump touts ‘turnaround for the ages’ amid popularity plunge, tariff defeat

Wall Street Journal: President Trump celebrated his economic agenda and immigration enforcement operations, referring to his first year in office as a “turnaround for the ages.” He is expected to unveil measures meant to lower costs ahead of the midterm elections, when his Republican Party will fight to keep control of Congress.

The speech comes against the backdrop of a major legal defeat at the Supreme Court on Trump’s signature tariffs, and as the administration weighs possible military strikes on Iran

New York Times: President Trump has hailed his record on immigration and sounded optimistic notes on the economy, two issues that powered his return to the White House.

Polls indicate that voters have soured on Mr. Trump’s economic and immigration polices, and Republicans have grown worried about November’s midterm elections.

MSNBC: In JD Vance’s most recent Fox News interview, the vice president gave Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law a sneak peek into this year’s State of the Union address. The president, Vance said, would tout the “Trump boom” in the economy.
